About the book

Just Your Average Muslim is a call for mutual understanding based upon the personal life of one particular British Muslim. Originally intended to be a guide for the author's children it covers a variety of issues, ranging from growing up as a Muslim in Britain, to exploring themes that Muslims need to start grappling with if Islam is to remain a relevant and positive force in the modern world.

What emerges is a message of global relevance that urges Muslims to assume their responsibilities to the human race, and reassures non-Muslims that there is perhaps cause for quiet optimism about a shared future.

Written with humour, yet passionate about its message, it is a powerful antidote to common, but exhausted stereotypes and could well serve to herald a new chapter in the Islamic story, one of critical introspection coupled with beneficial action, rooted in the education and tolerance of 21st century Great Britain.
